LAND DEAL HELPS TO PAVE WAY FOR WEKIVA PARKWAY
Gov. Charlie Crist and the Cabinet agreed to buy land critical to construction of a beltway around Orlando, two weeks after rejecting a higher-priced proposal. Instead of the original $37.5 million price tag, the deal now calls for state agencies and the Orlando- Orange County Expressway Authority to pay $30.5 million for the 385-acre tract. Click here for full article

KURT BAUERLE'S SHORT FILM WINS AT MARCO FILM FESTIVAL
Kurtis T. Bauerle, founding partner with the law firm of Harris, Harris, Bauerle & Sharma, is pleased to announce the short film he co-wrote and co-produced with childhood friend Brett Jaffee was selected as Best Short Film by the judges at the Marco Island Film Festival. Stuck, directed by Chuck Harris, was shot in Orlando and features Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me), Ken Howard (Crossing Jordon, The White Shadow) and Kali Rocha (Meet the Parents). The film, about five people stuck in an elevator, had its world premiere at the Florida Film Festival in March.

Gordon "Stumpy" Harris, has been appointed to serve on the Real Estate Advisory Board to the Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business. The Real Estate Advisory Board works continually to advance the quality and visibility of the University of Florida's real estate degree programs. The Board provides guidance, education, mentoring, placement assistance, and both scholarship and financial support to the real estate program at the university. Board members also actively participate in scholarship and endowment fundraising activities.
